<p>PURPOSE:To accurately and simply decide the magnitude of an inter-frame correlation and to decrease the number of picture element samples in accordance with a prescribed rule almost without any deterioration in the quality of a picture by constituting the titled method and devices so that one piece among sample values is transmitted in every frame. CONSTITUTION:A first means takes out the first through fourth sample values of such four picture elements as neighboring with each other in the horizontal and the vertical directions during the one-field period of a television signal; a fifth sample value is obtained by averaging the first and the second values among said four sample values, and among the said fifth, third, and fourth sample values, two are summed up and the difference between thus obtained sum and the remaining one sample value is calculated. A second means takes out sixth through eighth sample values; and among these three sample values, the sixth and the seventh values are taken out during the first frame period of the television signal. During the second frame period of the television signal, the sixth and the eighth sample values are taken out. Thus taken out signals are transmitted (recorded), and received (reproduced).</p> |
