A dynamic adsorber system (10) and method for removing a contaminant, such as radon, from a fluid, such as indoor air is accomplished by feeding the contaminated fluid to be cleansed through duct (50) to an adsorption bed (16, 18), having a capacity for the contaminant based substantially on the flow rate of the contaminated fluid, to cleanse the fluid. Subsequently regenerating the bed (16, 18) by providing a clean fluid such as outdoor air through duct (42) to the bed (16, 18) at a flow rate which, based on the relative temperatures of the indoor air and the outdoor air, is sufficient to flush the bed (16, 18) with the clean air. The regeneration air is vented outdoors through exhaust pipe (52). Control of the system (10) operation is by control unit (60).
|
