PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a polyacetal composition excellent in abrasion resistance, impact resistance and sliding property, by adding a specified amount of an ultrahigh-molecular-weight polyethylene powder to polyacetal. CONSTITUTION:This polyacetal composition is formed from 95-80wt.% polyacetal and 5-20wt.% ultrahigh-molecular-weight polyethylene of an average MW >=1,200,000 and an average particle diameter <=60mum. It is desirable to add at most 15wt.% fluorocarbon resin fiber of a fiber length <=1mm and an average diameter of 5-50mum to this composition, because the abrasion resistance at a high sliding speed can be further improved thereby. A sliding material is formed by extruding said composition at a temperature at which the polyacetal melts. |
