PURPOSE:To improve thermal efficiency by making heating zone of whole height in the fluidized bed, by dividing inner part of a fluidized reduction furnace into a reducing zone and a heating zone by a partition wall having the prescribed height, executing heat only at the heating zone and making heat transfer between both zones through the upper part, etc., of the fluidized bed. CONSTITUTION:The fluidized reduction furnace 1 is divided into the reducing zone 11 and the heating zone 12 by the partition wall 10. Fluidized reduction gas 2 is supplied to both zones 11, 12 and granular ore 5 charged from a charging hole 5 is fluidized. And, at the upper part 18 of this fluidized bed, both zones 11, 12 are communicated over the partition wall 10. Then, at the lower part of the heating zone 12, the ore 6 is heated by combustion gas.
