PURPOSE:To prevent an uncolored portion form occurring and improve a head touch to obtain a thick-film-type thermal recording head realizing a high image-quality, by a method wherein, the tangent line between an abrading roller and a head to be abraded is fixed parallel to the main-scanning direction of the head, and the overall range of the contact main-scanning direction line is simultaneously abraded due to the rotation of the abrading roller at the fixed position to increase the color-forming dot width. CONSTITUTION:A heating resistor 4 is printed on a substrate 1 and dried and burned, and an abradant 7 is bonded to an abrading roller 9 through a rubber material 8 having rigidity. The abrading roller 9 is depressed down against the heating resistor 4 with an uniform loading and rotated, whereby the heating resistor 4 is abraded. At this time, the tangent line between the abrading roller 9 and a head is fixed prallel to a main-scanning direction 11 of the head, and the overall contact main-scanning direction line 11 is simultaneously abraded due to the rotation of the abrading roller 9 at the fixed position without sliding the position of the abrading roller in the main- scanning direction 11 and a sub-scanning direction. In this manner, the range of coloring dot is extended and, thereby, an unwanted white line on a recorded image and a missing of ink can be inhibited, and an image quality is enhanced due to the reduction of the dispersion in the value of resistance.
