PURPOSE:To slide compression springs with antiabrasive members and to prevent the abrasion of a piston securely by fixing the antiabrasive members to the portions where the piston and the compression springs of a lockup clutch are opposed. CONSTITUTION:At a side of a hub 1 of a lockup clutch A, a piston 3 which can be connected to the input part of a torque converter is furnished. On the other hand, at the other side of the hub 1, a drive plate 6 to be fixed to the piston 3 is furnished. The drive plate 6 and the hub 1 are connected rotatable each other through compression springs 9 accommodated in plural windows 7 and 8 which are formed in the drive plate 6 and the hub 1. Moreover, at the side of the piston 3 opposing to the compression springs 9, antiabrasive members 12 are fixed. When the car speed exceeds a specific value, the compression springs 9 can move a little within the windows 7 and 8 formed in the drive plate 6 and the hub 1 when the drive plate 6 and the hub 1 rotate relatively, but they never contact and slide with the piston 3 because their outer diameter parts contact and slide with the antiabrasive members 12.
