PURPOSE:To accomplish proper guide by assuming a center line inclined a certain angle to the rotational axis of a guide roller, forming its periphery alongside the cylindrical surface with this assumed center line as axis, and restraining a tape in the center of the guide roller. CONSTITUTION:Among guide rollers R1, R2, R3, the central one R2 is supported rotatably by a shaft 6 and a bearing 7. A center line l1 is assumed which is inclined a certain angle alpha to the rotational axis l0 of the guide roller R2, and its periphery S is processed along the cylindrical surface with this assumed center line l1 as axis. A tape T is drawn toward one end A and the other end B after every 180 deg. rotation of the guide roller R2 thus formed, that is repeated alternately, and the tape T is restrained in the center C of the guide roller R2. This ensures that the tape is guided regardless of the tape width.
