PURPOSE:To provide an inorg. filler which has low surface activity and adsorptivity, has a less tendency to secondary flocculation and has excellent stability in a compd. by subjecting spherical zeolite to an acid treatment and(or) heat treatment thereby forming the amorphous zeolite. CONSTITUTION:The spherical zeolite such as p-type spherical zeolite is subjected to the acid treatment and(or) heat treatment. A more specific example of the acid treatment includes a method of preparing the zeolite in the form of a water slurry and treating the same by adding hydrochloric acid, etc., thereto. Calcination at 500-850 deg.C is adequate as the heat treatment. The alumino silicate which contains >=50wt.% SiO2 based on anhydride, is X-ray diffractometrically amorphous, has <=50m<2>/g BET specific surface area as well as <=13% hygroscopicity under the conditions of 90% RH, room temp. and 24hr, consists of spherical particles having 0.2-30mum electron microscopical primary grain size and is adequate as a filler for plastics, rubber, etc., is thereby obtd.
