PURPOSE:To reduce the burden of an operator, by a method wherein, a means directing the ON/OFF of a printing action at the detection of the trailing end of a continuous paper and directing a printing amount after the detection of the trailing end is provided, and with the direction of keeping on the printing action the printing action is kept on by the directed printing amount after the detection of the trailing end of the continuous paper. CONSTITUTION:With an input of a detection signal which is outputted from a paper end switch 16 through an I/O port 28, a CPU 21 checks whether or not a flag stored in a flag storage area 24a of a RAM 24 is set to ON. If the flag is set to ON, a printing action is kept on for every line by the printing amount stored in a printing amount storage area 24b of the RAM 24. On the other hand, if the flag is set to OFF, a printing action is stopped after the detection of the trailing end of a continuous paper 13 and the continuous paper 13 is discharged. In this construction, a printing after the detection of the trailing end of the continuous paper can be carried out without a printing direction at every one-line printing; thus, the burden of an operator can be eliminated. |
