PURPOSE:To provide the title cleaning agent by which used surgical knives and microtomes can be cleaned without adversely affecting the sharpness thereof, and which comprises papain diluted with (pure) water. CONSTITUTION:1-10wt.%, pref. 1-3wt.% papain (A) which is obtd. from papaya fruit and is a hydrolyzate of an amino acid, such as leucine, glycine, etc. of a peptide, an amide and an ester is diluted with (pure) water (B).
