PURPOSE:To enable production of the titled powder having high critical temperature and uniform particle size, not enlarging particles in obtaining the powder by heat treatment, by carrying out heat treatment in atmospheres of two or more stages having different oxygen partial pressure and specifying oxygen partial pressure at the final stage of temperature retention. CONSTITUTION:A raw material is prepared, falsely pressed or ground, heat- treated and ground as the final process to produce ceramic powder of superconductive oxide. The heat treatment of the operation is carried out in atmospheres of two or more stages having different oxygen partial pressure and oxygen partial pressure at the final stage of temperature retention is made <0.5atm. By this method, ceramic powder of superconductive oxide suppressing enlargement of particles and having uniform particle size is obtained. The prepared powder shows a high critical temperature.
