NEW MATERIAL:A microorganism, having lactose assimilating property and belonging to Corynebacterium.glutamicum, Corynebacterium.herculis, Brevibacterium.flavum and Brevibacterium.lactofermentum. USE:For producing amino acids by assimilating lactose. PREPARATION:For example, a DNA capable of coding beta-D-galactosidase and beta-galactoside permease derived from lactose.operon of Escherichia coli having lactose assimilating property is collected by a conventional method, integrated into a plasmid, such as Corynebacterium.glutamicum (ATCC 13032), and transformed to afford the aimed novel microorganism having lactose assimilating property. Furthermore, the resultant microorganism can be added to a dairy waste liquor whey, etc., and cultivated to convert lactose in the whey into amino acids. |
