<p>Chloroprene is prepared by reacting hydrogen chloride with monovinylacetylene in the presence of aqueous cuprous chloride, separating the water-insoluble tar phase from the aqueous cuprous chloride and stripping from said tar phase at least a part of the chloroprene and/or monovinyl-acetylene contained therein with gaseous hydrogen chloride, the hydrogen chloride being subsequently reacted with further monovinylacetylene in the presence of aqueous cuprous chloride. The stripping is preferably effected at substantially the same temperature at which it emerges from the chloroprene reaction vessel using countercurrent flow in a partially packed column.</p> |
