PURPOSE:To produce pullulan industrially and inexpensively, by cultivating a fungus capable of producing pullulan in a medium containing an inexpensive hemicellulose hydrolyzate as a carbon source. CONSTITUTION:A well-known fungus such as Aureobasidium pullulans IFO4464, capable of producing pullulan, is cultivated in a medium containing a hemicellulose hydrolyzate as a carbon source by a conventional procedure and pullulan is collected from the culture solution. |
