PURPOSE:To increase the cooling effect of an apparatus by constituting one or two radial air ducts as core holder for a salient-pole coil rotor pole piece. CONSTITUTION:Core holders 12b with air ducts 16 formed therein are fitted on both sides of a laminated thin plate 11 and fixed integrally by a rivet 13 to constitute a pole piece 9. The outer peripheral part of said pole 9 is provided with an insulated coil 11, and said coil piece 9 is mounted on a spider 14 installed at a shaft 15. In a rotor having a salient-pole coil 10a thus constituted a cooling air 6 flows through the air duct 16 of said core holder 12 as shown by the arrow. In this manner, cooling of a coil can be improved on the pole piece side inside face and especially in the leeward part of the salient-pole coil 10 so that the heat stored in said part can be released readily and efficiently.
