PURPOSE:To provide the titled member which has excellent resistance to erosion by molten copper and durability by consisting said member of a sintered body consisting of AlN and the oxide of group IIIa elements of periodic table at prescribed ratios. CONSTITUTION:The mixture is obtd. by mixing (A) 80-99.9wt.% AlN powder and (B) 0.1-20wt.% oxide of group IIIa elements of periodic table such as CeO2 and Y2O3 or mixing 50-99wt.% component A, 0.1-20wt.% component B as a sintering assistant component, and (C) 0.9-40wt.% >=1 kinds selected from the nitride, carbide and oxide of B, Si, V, Ti, Cr, and Zr, and C as a thermal impact resistance imparting agent. This mixture is molded to a desired shape and is subjected to working at need after atm. pressure sintering and is subjected to sintering and working by a hot press, by which the titled member is obtd.
