PURPOSE:To correctly select a device even when plural kinds of devices are connected mixedly, by receiving a signal which designates the kind and the number of the device to be selected sent simultaneously with a device selection signal from a selected sent simultaneously with a device selection signal from a host device, recognizing coincidence by its own device, and outputting a device selection state signal. CONSTITUTION:A device type signal 6 which represents the kind of its own device is generated by a device type signal generation circuit 1, and it is compared with a device type designation signal 7 from the host device, and when they coincide, a device type coincidence signal 10 is outputted. Meanwhile, a device number signal 8 is generated by a device number signal generation circuit 2, and it is compared with a device number designation signal 9 from the host device by a device number comparator 4, and when they coincide, a device number coincidence signal 11 is outputted. And a device selection circuit 5 outputs the device selection state signal 14 if the signals 10 and 11 are outputted when a device selection designation signal 12 is inputted from the host device. In such a way, it is possible to select the device correctly.
