A pivoting control lever (4) which can be put in three working positions serves to control an open-end spinning element. In a first production position, the control lever (4) causes a first drive element, rotating at the production speed, to act on the open-end spinning element. In the braking position, the control lever (4) causes a brake (3) to act on the spinning element and, in the start-up spinning position, the control lever (4) causes a second drive element, rotating at a speed below that of the first drive, to act on the open-end spinning element. A joint control element (7) connected to at least the stops (6) which determine the positions of the control lever (4) for producing and starting-up the spinning operation may move backwards and forwards between at least two switching positions (I, II) in the direction of the movement of the free end (42) of the control lever (4). A stop element (60) connected to the control element (7) forms the stop (6) which determines at least the position, for production or starting-up, of the control lever (4) according to the switching position (I, II) of the control element (7). The stop element (60) forms an integral part of the control element (7). The latter can move not only in the direction of movement (P1) of the free end (42) of the control lever (4), but also transversely to the direction of movement (P1) of the free end (42) of the control lever (4). |
