PURPOSE:To suppress the power consumption and to keep a magnetic substance or a paramagnet in a prescribed position for many hours by a method wherein, while a magnetic flux is generated temporarily by a normal conducting coil, another coil is shifted to a superconducting state and the generated magnetic flux is captured. CONSTITUTION:The supply of a coolant to a cooling part 5 is stopped by a coolant supply control part 6; a first coil 1 is kept in a normal conducting state. At this stage, a double-throw two-gang switch 4 is operated. By this operation, electricity is applied to a second coil 2; a magnetic flux whose density is determined by an applied electric current and the number of windings for the coil is generated; this magnetic flux is interlinked with the first coil 1. After that, the coolant is applied to the cooling part by the coolant supply control part 6; the first coil 1 is shifted from the normal conducting state to a superconducting state; as a result, the magnetic flux is eliminated from the first coil 1 itself. Then, an electric current is caused on the surface of the first coil 1 and continues to flow without attenuation. As a result, even if the supply of electricity to the second coil 2 is stopped, the magnetic flux existing at the inside of the first coil 1 is captured; the magnetic flux continues to attract a magnetic substance or a paramagnet magnetically. |
