PURPOSE:To realize a high-speed printing, by a method wherein, a modifier address part determining a data storage address is determined with a top of printing rows and a top of a printing line, and character generator data is directly accessed using the modifier part as an index. CONSTITUTION:In the writing to a head 13, CG data is contained in a memory space per slice block to be divided into pages of the predetermined block number. The data is fetched from a code buffer contained in a RAM 3, and a modifier address part determining a data storage address is determined with a top of printing rows and a top of a printing line. When a mode is required to be changed at the top of rows, a CG font pattern required of the mode is calculated using data of a ROM 5 for CG data to be developed to a storage RAM 6, and the modifier part is determined. Thereafter, at the top of each line, using the line number now in printing and using an address determined by the obtained modifier part and data read from the code buffer, the CG data can be directly obtained. Therefore, an access time can be reduced to realize high- speed printing. |
