PURPOSE: To form a clear image free from fog by electrolyzing a copper source in the presence of a halide ion source, recovering cuprous halide as an anodic product and combining it with a substrate fit for photographic technique. CONSTITUTION: An anodic product produced by electrolyzing copper in the presence of a halogen source is recovered. This electrolysis is carried out over such a wide potential range as not to vary the photosensitivity of the anodic product. The copper source is preferably a copper anode used for an electrolytic bath-cell system and the halogen source is a halide ion source derived from an acid capable of forming halogen ions. The surface of a PVC film is coated with the resultant photosensitive cuprous halide as the anodic product and the cuprous halide is dried, exposed to ammonia and brought into a reaction in the presence of water to obtain the objective photosensitive material exactly respondent to light. When this material is used, a clear image free from fog can be formed. |
