Metal component joining conduits - has outer member flange bent back to form groove for inner member flange

The metal component comprises a first profiled U-section member (1) fitted inside a second one (2), one of its flanges being secured to one of the second members by insertion inside a bent-back portion. The rigid assembly so formed is joined to others (11, 11') by flat square corner-pieces so as to form a rectangular fame with slots for sheet-metal conduit walls (14) handling gas, ventilation air etc. These are clad with heat- and/or sound insulating material as desired. The outer member flange is bent back through 150 deg. towards the inside, forming a recess extending for the full flange length and whose opening is of width corresponding to the thickness of the flange (3) on the inner member (1).
