PURPOSE: To obtain a gas discharge tube, having a drastically low He loss, compared with that of the known discharge tube by making a tube, end walls and capillary pipe of an alkali metal lime silicate glass or alumino-lime silicate glass, and hermetically coupling the end walls with the tube, capillary pipes, pump connection pipe pieces and cathode connection pins by glass braze. CONSTITUTION: The discharge tube comprises a cylindrical tube, having a tubular cathode 37 inside a tube 4 and end walls 6, 8 inserted in the ends of the tube 4, capillary pipes 14, 16 inserted in holes 10, 12 of the end walls, pump connection pipe pieces 34 hermetically fixed to the one end wall 6, booster windows 30 hermetically closing the outer ends of the capillary pies, and anode in the outer end regions of the capillary pipes. The tube 4, end walls 6, 8 and capillary pipes 14, 16 are made of an alkali metal lime silicate glass or alumino- lime silicate glass, connecting pins 39 are attached to the cathode 37 for piercing the holes 23 of the one end wall 8, and the end walls 6, 8 are coupled hermetically to the tube 4, capillary pipes, pump connection pipe pieces and cathode connection pins by means of glass braze. |
