PURPOSE: To obtain an electronic musical instrument capable of playing music with a good power of expression by emitting different sounds from a sound source other than the sound source which is emitting sounds at present. CONSTITUTION: Musical scale information obtained from a keyboard 1 by a scale discrimination means 2 is processed in a processing means 4 for sound emission, and a sound emission instruction of a tone color preliminarily set by a control panel 8 is outputted to a tone generator 5. Further, the strength of after-touch is detected by an after-touch detection means 3, and a sound emission instruction output decision device 7 decides by this strength to output a sound emission instruction of another tone color preliminarily set by the control panel 8 to another tone generator 6 which is not emitting sounds. For example, if the tone color of an organ is preliminarily set to the tone generator 5 and that of strings is preliminarily set to the tone generator 6, sounds are emitted in the tone color of the organ when keys are first weakly depressed, and sounds are emitted in the tone color of strings together when keys are depressed more strongly. Thus, the force of expression for depth or the like of sounds is enhanced. |
