A staple cassette (10) includes a relatively elongated body having a hollow portion extending through the length of the body, and having a pair of staple driving apertures (18) formed in the top and bottom walls (16,20) of the body adjacent to its forward end (12A) aligned with each other. As a feeder, a permanent magnet piece (24) having a fitting hole (46) is disposed inside of the forward end. After loading staples in the hollow portion of the elongated body, the rear end of the body is closed by a cab (30) having two legs (34) with locking members (36).
