PURPOSE:To obtain an economically advantageous functional porous film capable of simplifying separating and purifying processes free from admixture of a catalyst, reaction substances and reaction product, by adding a catalyst to a synthetic resin film, supporting, immobilizing and then drawing. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin is blended with a catalyst (e.g., metallic complex catalyst or zeolite catalyst) and molded into a film or the synthetic resin is molded into a film, the catalyst is bonded to the surface of the film under pressure by heating or the catalyst is added to the surface of an inorganic carrier and the inorganic carrier is bonded to the surface of the film under pressure by heating to produce the synthetic resin film containing, supporting or immobilizing the catalyst. Then the film is drawn 1.5-4 times in the case of monoaxial orientation and 1.1-2.5 times in the case of biaxial orientation to produce a functional porous film.
