PURPOSE:To eliminate unpleasant noise generated from a feeding motor and prevent reliability of the motor from being lowered, by feeding first and second recording sheets according to detection by an upstream sheet sensor, end identifying the recording sheet to be initialized, according to an output from a downstream sheet sensor provided between a recording part and a cutter. CONSTITUTION:When one of upstream sheet sensors 3a, 3b provided on the upstream side of a recording part detects white whereas the other detects black, first and second recording sheets 1a, 1b are fed by a first predetermined amount. On the other hand, when outputs from one of the upstream sheet sensor, 3a, and the other upstream sheet sensor 3b are not varied, the first and second recording sheets 1a, 1b are fed by a second predetermined amount, and the recording sheet to be initialized is identified according to an output from a downstream sheet sensor 3c provided between the recording part and the cutter 16. Therefore, unpleasant noise is not generated from feeding motors 8, 9, and the reliability of the feeding motors is not lowered. |
