PURPOSE:To produce the title superconductor having excellent superconducting characteristics, by separately heat-treating powdery raw materials containing the elements constituting an oxide superconductor, mixing the heat-treated raw materials and calcining and sintering the mixture. CONSTITUTION:One or more powdery raw materials containing the elements constituting an oxide superconductor, e.g. Y2O3, BaCO3 and CuO are separately heat-treated at a temperature above the calcination temperature and below the melting point of the powdery raw material and the heat-treated materials are slowly cooled and mixed with each other to obtain a powdery mixture. The powdery mixture is crushed, calcined in an oxygen-containing atmosphere at 500-1,000 deg.C for 1-several tens hr, formed into a prescribed form by powder molding and sintered in an oxygen-containing atmosphere at 850-1,100 deg.C for 1-several tens hr. |
