PURPOSE:To estimate a head temperature at the restart of printing without troubling a conduction time decision circuit by printing data even during an action requiring a remarkably longer time than a data processing time to enable loads to be reduced in a circuit system, by providing a timer in a control circuit to manage a time from the halt of printing to the restart of printing. CONSTITUTION:At the time of the completion of a line printing, the total dot number N in the line is stored. The increment of the value N is corrected as shown in a table 1. Next, a timer is started to conduct a carriage return action. After the completion of this action, the value of the timer is read and represented by (t). Then, a factor K is determined according to the value (t) and a table 2. The factor K represents the extent to which a head temperature is decreased. A formula kXN is calculated to obtain Q, which can be assumed to represent a head temperature at the restart of printing. Next, DELTAP is determined according to the value Q and a table 3. A pointer indicating a conduction time at the restart of a prior line printing is represented by P, and a formula (P+DELTAP) is calculated to newly obtain P. A conduction time at the restart of a present line printing is determined according to the value P and a table 4. |
