Coaxial cigarette which has an inner core of residue-free burning material, especially tobacco material, with a protection for the inner core, an outer wrapping layer which coaxially surrounds the inner core and its protection, of tobacco and/or non-tobacco material, and in which there is a protection for the outer wrapping layer, with addition of a ventilated coaxial filter with a filter core whose internal diameter largely corresponds to the diameter of the inner core and which has a filter wrapping layer; the filter core has an air-permeable protection; the outer wrapping layer of the filter has an air-permeable protection; the protection of the inner core and the protection of the outer wrapping layer are provided with burning protection and the resistance of the inner core is lower than that of the outer wrapping layer.
