PURPOSE:To output various characters of high quality different in size from border information of one character by preliminarily defining coordinate data of apexes with directivity and changing coordinate data so that each side defined with apexes is moved in parallel in the direction of one axis by a designated extent of change. CONSTITUTION:Coordinate data of apexes of a polygon approximating the border line of a vector character are defined with directivity. That is, they are defined in order in one direction where the inside of the polygon is always seen. Consequently, when the line width of a character will be increased or reduced, the direction in which each side of the polygon should be moved is automatically judged. At the time of increasing or reducing the line width of the character, each side of the polygon is moved in parallel only in the direction of one axis by a designated extent of change. Therefore, the variation of the actual line width is different by the angle of the vector. Thus, data having various character sizes is obtained based on vector data of, especially, Ming type characters because the line width of the character is changed only in the direction of one axis. |
