Work-holding fixture

The work-holding fixture has two jaw holders 2 and 3 displaceable on a guide device 1. The jaw holders 2 and 3 each have a jaw 4 and 5 for clamping a workpiece 10. The jaws 4 and 5 are pivotably mounted about axes 6 and 7 in the jaw holders 2 and 3. For concentric clamping, the jaw holders are connected to one another via a synchronising device 47 which is neutralised in its action for the floating clamping by means of a coupling 52, 53. For the concentric clamping, the jaws 4 and 5 are each secured by means of a locking device 45 and 46 in their position aligned with the machine axis 44, which position is released for the floating clamping. In the clamped state of the workpiece, the jaw holders are secured to the guide device 1 by means of clamping devices 13 and 14. The jaw holders are provided with chambers 41 and 42 on their guide surfaces 31 and 32 to produce an air cushion. <IMAGE>
