PURPOSE:To enable measurement of a high potential/high temperature crucible at a low cost with a simple construction by connecting one end of a conductor to an earth wire through an ammeter while the other end thereof is arranged near the crucible. CONSTITUTION:One end of a conductor 2 as tungsten is connected to an earth wire through an ammeter 3 while the other end thereof is arranged near a crucible 1. When the tip of the conductor 2 is heated upto a high temperature by a radiation heat of the crucible 1, electron is released and attracted to the crucible 1 at a positive potential with respect to the conductor 2 to generate a current between the both. The intensity of the current is detected with an ammeter 3 to be taken into an arithmetic device 6, which computes a temperature of the conductor 2, namely, the temperature of the crucible 1. The results are shown on a display device 7. This eliminates the need for providing an insulating construction or the like and applying a high voltage to a thermocouple or the like. |
