<p>PURPOSE: To remove acidic gases, such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, from other gases by supporting a solvent-swollen polymer which is compatible with a solvent having a high degree of a polar group in a molecular structure by a microporous support. CONSTITUTION: The high-temp. coal gas from an alternate converter passes a gas-liquid contact device through a heat exchanger and is satd. by the solvent of the same kind as the solvent to swell the membrane. The gas enters a membrane sepn. unit. The membrane supports the solvent-swollen polymer which is compatible with the solvent having the high degree of the polar group in the molecular structure in the holes of the microporous support. The coal gas is subjected to the permeation of the gas rich in the concn. of the hydrogen sulfide and the carbon dioxide by the composite liquid membrane and is diluted by gaseous N2 . The diluted gas is sent to a sulfur recovering device. On the other hand, the residual flow contg. the non-permeated H2 and CO is sent to a methane forming device or the like. The efficient sepn. of the acidic gases, such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide, from another gas is made possible.</p> |
