The invention relates to a device making it possible to protect the various diameter spare wheels from wear due to the support cradle in which these wheels are housed under the back of the vehicle, as well as from soiling and damp in general. It consists of a base made from a friction-resistant material 1, of a side wall 2, and of an upper cap 3 made from an elastic synthetic cloth allowing it to fit the various diameters of wheel, and of a zip fastener 4 located at the connection of the side wall 2 and of the cap 3 for installing the wheel inside the device. <IMAGE>
