PURPOSE:To improve the workability of the ultrasonic operation and reduce the load on a patient at the time of insertion by providing a transmitting mechanism transmitting the driving force from a driving mechanism to a rotary shaft and arranging the driving mechanism noncoaxially with a probe main body so as to form a work space section for performing the piercing work. CONSTITUTION:A motor 3a is arranged noncoaxially with a probe main body 2 so as to form a work space section for performing the piercing work behind the probe main body 2. A hand section 3 is grasped, the probe main body 2 is inserted into the specific portion of a patient. When the motor 3a is rotated, a pulley 3b fitted to the motor 3a is rotated, the rotary driving force is transmitted to a pulley 2d via a timing belt 4a. A rotary shaft 2c is rotated by the rotary driving force, a vibrator 2a is swayed via an arm 2b, the specific portion of the patient is sector-scanned by ultrasonic waves, then a fault image is obtained on a monitor. When the piercing work is to be performed, a physician operates a piercing unit 14 by utilizing the space of the work space section 7 to perform the piercing work. |
