A reaction mix contg. a complex obtd. in the course of Vilsmeyer formylation is decomposed as follows: opt. an inert solvent is added to the mix, followed by cooling while an alkaline-earth-hydroxide, oxide or carbonate is added. The mixt. is heated and aldehyde formed as a result is removed. The aq. phase is made alkaline for the liberation of free amine and pptn. of phosphate. These are also isolated. (-pp) |
