<p>A one-piece tie of plastics material has a flat flexible strap (10) with a head (20) projecting from one side, the head having an aperture (22) transverse to the plane of the strap so that the free end of the strap can be looped around an article to be tied and passed through the head for transverse serrations on the strap to lock with a toothed pawl (25) in the aperture (22). The opposite side walls of the head are formed with inclined projections (28) for fitting tightly against the article being tied to prevent leakage e.g. where the tie secures an end of a rubber hose over the end of a pipe.</p> |
