PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a receiving buffer memory by executing data compression of an inputted printing control code, storing the compressed data in the receiving buffer memory, and extending the data at the time of generating image data. CONSTITUTION:A printing control code is inputted from an input part 1 and stored in the receiving buffer memory 3 by a microprocessor 2. The printing control code stored in the memory 3 is read out by the processor 2, converted into image data and stored in an image memory 4. At the time of inputting the image data, the image data are inputted to a data compressing circuit 5, compressed and stored in the memory 3, so that the capacity of the memory 3 can be reduced. At the time of generating the image data, the compressed data stored in the memory 3 are demodulated by an extension circuit 6, processed by the processor 2 and stored in the memory 4. |
