An apparatus comprising a roll (2) of heat-sensitive or electrostatic recording paper (1) which is fed through rollers (4, 4) under a thermal head (3), and a cutter (5); additionally it includes a roll (6) of a sealing or enveloping paper (7) which is fed via rollers (8, 8) to join the recording paper (1) at press rolls (9), and a sealing means (10) where the sealing paper is bonded to the periphery of the recorded paper, or to all but an address part thereof, before the paper is cut up. In another embodiment (Fig. 5) the apparatus has output guides which wind the recording into a roll and ends of the the roll are sealed; addressee information can be selectively printed out on an unwound end of the roll. The apparatus may alternatively (Fig. 9) put the recording into an envelope, and it may fold up a multi-page recording (Fig. 11) before enveloping it.
