PURPOSE:To easily decide whether the part in succession to different patterns is the read-only part or writable part by recording the different patterns in respective recording parts for information management. CONSTITUTION:While the writable (recordable) part 1 of the optical disk exists on the inner peripheral part thereof, the read-only (reproduction-only) part 2 exists on the inner peripheral part thereof. The read-only part is recorded with information as ruggedness of a substrate in the same manner as heretofore and guide grooves and ID parts are formed in the readable part. The patterns which are not generated in ordinary data recording are previously provided at the top part thereof as an ID part and are particularly formed as the patterns different in the reproduction-only part and the recordable part. If the different patterns are previously recorded at the top, the decision as to whether the part in succession thereto is the recordable part or the reproduction-only part is easily executed. |
