PURPOSE:To execute the diagnosis of an output device without interrupting normal job by reading out data from an input device, transferring the data to a host computer and outputting order data from the host computer. CONSTITUTION:An input information reader, i.e. a card reader 2, transmits order data sent from the input device 4 to the host computer 1. At the time of receiving the data, the host 1 checks the sort of the received data, and when the data are order data (for terminal diagnosis) to which a diagnostic mode command is added, executes only the processing and edition of data without storing the data. The edited data are outputted to a specified output device 3 and a message indicating an output based upon terminal diagnosis is added to the head of the outputted printing data. In the case of order data, i.e. normal job data to which a normal job command is added, the processing, storage and edition of data are executed and the edited data are outputted to the output device 3. After ending the output, the succeeding data are waited. |
