PURPOSE:To attain the transmission of a confidential mail by using the text mail password of a transmission destination registered in a user management file at mail transmission and setting a confidential mail flag to the transmission mail. CONSTITUTION:In the case of sending a confidential mail, when the user gives the instruction of a mail to be sent into the confidential mail by using a transmission mail classification selecting means 2 from a terminal equipment 1 at the designation of destination, the means 2 receiving the instruction from the terminal equipment 1 instructs the extraction of a text mail pass word to a password extraction means 3. The means 3 receiving the instruction of extraction executes the processing of extracting a text mail password for a transmission destination from a user management file 8. A password registration presence checking means 4 checks whether or not the password to be extracted is registered in the file 8. When the password is registered, a confidential mail flag set means 5 sets the flag representing the mail to be the confidential mail to the mail information of a relevant mail.
