PURPOSE:To plot the graphic elements having various line widths at a high speed and in a simple constitution by drawing successively the circular pattern data having the diameters substantially equal to the line width of the graphic element to be drawn. CONSTITUTION:A line width setting means 1 selects a circular pattern having a diameter equal to the designated line width, and a line type setting means 2 sets the plotting and non-plotting frequencies of the circular patterns. Then a drawing position computing means 3 sets the coordinates of a starting position at the plotting position of the circular pattern and at the same time calculates the increment value of the X axis direction so that the distance between circular patterns is set under half of the line width against the next plotting position. The circular pattern data selected by a drawing means 5 is written into a frame memory 4 for decision whether the production of a circular pattern is through or not. If not, the Y coordinates are obtained on a straight line when a shift is produced by an extent (xa) toward the X axis from the present plotting position. Then the obtained coordinates are defined as those of the next plotting position. If the coordinates exceed an end point, the next plotting position is defined as the end point. Thus it is possible to cope with various widths and types of lines and at the same time the plotting process is carried out at a high speed. |
