Problems of dynamics and passband difficulties in the transmission of sound in films are resolved by the use of a laser disc (9) which is read by a laser disc reader (10, 11, 12) which has been synchronised (14) with the original film sound tape. Problems arising from repairs made to the film are solved by recording the sound-track in advance, then storing it in a memory (13) and subsequently reading from said memory, while, if need be, producing skips (24) in the reading of the memory in order to avoid including sound-track elements which correspond to images already removed from the film-track.
|
