PURPOSE:To perform the fusion to a thermal head without generating background fog and to suppress scumming by containing a copolymer consisting of polyvinyl alcohol, oxidized starch and an acrylic compound in a thermal color forming layer and/or the overcoat layer provided on the thermal color forming layer as an adhesive. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer consisting of polyvinyl alcohol, oxidized starch and an acrylic compound is contained in the thermal color forming layer of a thermal recording material and/or the overcoat layer provided on said thermal color forming layer. The respective component ratio of the copolymer is desirably set so that charge wt. composition is regulated within a range wherein polyvinyl alcohol is 10-60wt.%, oxidized starch is 10-40wt.% and the acrylic compound is 20-50wt.%. By this method, strong bonding strength is shown and no background fog is brought about even when the copolymer is compounded with the thermal color forming layer and/or the overcoat layer provided on the thermal color forming layer and sticking or scumming is markedly improved. |
