PURPOSE:To improve electrostatic charge characteristics, flowability and pres sure fixability by extracting and removing a part of a water soluble resin from kneaded matter consisting of a water insoluble resin, water insoluble coloring agent and the water soluble resin by an aq. solvent to obtain the ground matter of a desired grain size. CONSTITUTION:The water soluble resin is produced by mixing and kneading the water insoluble toner constituting materials, i.e. at least the resin and the coloring material. The kneaded matter obtd. after sufficient kneading is ground and the resulted rough ground particles are charged into the aq. solvent to remove the water soluble resin in the particles into the aq. solvent soln. After the water soluble resin is removed, the particles and the water soluble resin are separated and the particles are sufficiently dried; thereafter, the particle are further ground and classified to obtain the toner. Ruggedness is formed on the toner surfaces and the electrostatic charge characteristics, flowability and pressure fixability are improved. |
