Multi-component gas for purificn or rectification by treatment with adsorption columns filled with molecular sieve material, and each undergoing a cycle of adsorption and regeneration stages, is delivered from the column outlets by valved prod gas lines coupled to a gas-tank. These lines leading to a common gas-tank feeder conduit each hold a throttle whose resistance to gas flow towards the feeder conduit is less than for the opposite flow direction. To provide this difference, the control throttle consists of a non-return valve with a first calibrated throttle operative in parallel with a second flushing aperture providing greater flow resistance. The throttles may involve resilient elements with circular or slotted apertures widening more in one direction that in the opposite (flashing) direction). ADVANTAGE - Continuous operation is combined with avoidance of prod-gas-loss due to excessive flashing gas pressence during regeneration.
