System for reliable identification of sheet-shaped articles, frames, edge-reinforced wires and/or similar, essentially plate-shaped articles 1-9 in order to be capable of individually identifying and, if required, sorting, for subsequent processing or for rejection, each individual, sheet-shaped article from among many, essentially similar, sheet-shaped articles 1-9 in an environment which is affected to a great extent by one or more environmentally influential factors, for example great heat, high pressure, dirt contamination, moisture etc. Said essentially sheet-shaped articles 1-9 are adapted so as to be conveyed on conveyor belts 11-19 or by similar conveying members in a conveying direction. A suitable number of identifying members 101-106 for the purpose are located in each sheet-shaped article 1-9 in a part thereof which lies in said conveying direction. Said identifying members 101-106 in each individual sheet- shaped article 1 are adapted so as to be sensed essentially simultaneously or in a time-controlled manner by means of, preferably, a sensing member 22 which is located in such a manner in the vicinity of the conveying member 11 that it can always be brought into sensing contact with the identifying members 101-106 of each individual sheet-shaped article 1 when this individual sheet-shaped article 1 is conveyed on or by said conveying member 11. <IMAGE> |
