PURPOSE: To obtain the subject treatment composition that contains D- cycloserine and D-alanine and suppresses the side effects caused by D cycloserine such as gastrointestinal injury. CONSTITUTION: This treatment composition contains a therapeutically effective amount of D-cycloserine and a therapeutically effective amount of D-alanine at a weight ratio of 1/1-100/1, preferably 10/1-100/1 D-alanine/D-cycloserine and one or more of pharmaceutically acceptable excipients. This composition is useful for treatment of patients afflicted with schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, disturbance of memory and learning deficiency due to senility or for improvement in memory and learning ability of healthy persons. Its daily dose is 0.01-10mg, preferably 0.05-2.5 mg/kg body weight of D-cycloserine.
